Nipple surgery is most commonly undertaken due to dissatisfaction with their appearance – nipples may be larger or smaller than their owners would like, or there may be a discrepancy in size.
The most common reasons why clients consider nipple surgery:
- Large nipples – these can impair quality of life as they are overly sensitive and may cause discomfort or even pain when wearing clothing.
- Inverted nipples – surgery to correct inverted nipples without severing the milk ducts can also help ensure successful breastfeeding.
- Nipple surgery for men – men may also suffer because their nipples do not match the proportions of their body.
Inverted nipples can be corrected with or without severing the milk ducts – leaving the ducts intact preserves the possibility of future breastfeeding.
